About Us

aboutOpened in 1959, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School is located in the West Ferris area of North Bay. It is the only English Catholic School in this area of North Bay and therefore serves as the neighbourhood school for children from JK to Grade 8 inclusive. Our school partners with the Holy Name of Jesus Parish to promote the spiritual development of our students.

The School structure, in large part, consists of 11 classrooms, a library, and a gymnasium. We are very proud of our school yard which includes a peace park, play structures, as well as several areas to play basketball.

Students at Our Lady of Fatima are recognized regularly for their achievement, school spirit, sense of community, call to service and participation in sports. The following awards are available to students:

School Events

Our Lady of Fatima School hosts a variety of events throughout the school year to promote enjoyment for learning and a sense of school community for students, staff and families. These events include:

  • Muffin Breakfast/Barbecues
  • Play Days

Community Relations

The "call to serve" by students and staff extends beyond the boundaries of our classrooms and school yard to the community at large. The "Leisure Kids" programs in partnership with Leisure World Nursing Home promotes care and respect for the elderly. Each month, visits to the nursing home by intermediate grade students, provide the youth of our school the opportunity to learn from senior citizens. As well during the year, our school facilities are used by various community groups.

Our Lady of Fatima supports a number of charitable endeavours, the following are examples: The Food Bank (Advent), Operation Christmas Child, Kids Helping Kids (Lent), The Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Terry Fox Run.
